Public presentation at the Maidstone Bicentennial Museum - Thursday, February 9
As part of our special initiative, Project Pawpaw, we will be offering a public presentation. Entitled "Lost & Found: The History of the Pawpaw", this presentation will explore the long and quirky history of the Pawpaw here in Ontario, as well as in the United States. The museum is located at 1093 Puce Road in Lakeshore, not far from the regional landfill. No registration or entry fees are required. The meeting will being at 7:00pm.

A complete list of Pawpaw Grower Training Sessions is now available. Beginning in March, we will offer over a dozen training sessions that will be offered throughout Windsor and Essex County. Each two hour seminar will provide a comprehensive overview of the Pawpaw, including its ecological and historical aspects, as well as its agricultural potential. We will also provide training on the Pawpaw's characterisitics and unique cultivation requirments, along with proven techniques for planting and maintenance and how to manage your own Pawpaw harvest. This is open to all residents of Windsor and Essex County, including hobby gardeners and professional growers. The Native Seed Identification & Cultivation Guide for Southern Ontario
First launched in 2009, this book has become our most requested publication. This 144 page book identifies our region's many native tree, shrub and wildflower species and their respective seeds, fruits and nuts. This full colour book presents over 100 original images and serves as both an outdoor seed guide and handy reference manual. This book sells for $25 and is tax exempt. Due to the many requests that we have received, the seed guide will also be available to residents outside of Essex County by mail order.
Books can be purchased by mail order for $28.00, which includes postage and handling fees.
